“I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.”

Albert Einstein.

Instructional Technology:

As a professional instructional technology designer, I subscribe to the definition adopted by the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) which states: “the theory and practice of design, development, utilization, management and evaluation of process and resources for learning” (Seels & Richey, 1994, p. 129).

Philosophy of Education:

As an educator, I believe Discovery Learning is the paramount Constructivist learning theory because the learner applies his or her own past experiences and existing knowledge to discover facts. As a result, students may be more likely to retain the knowledge discovered by them.

Advantages of Discovery Learning:

  • Encourages active engagement.
  • Promotes motivation, autonomy, responsibility, and independence.
  • Technology facilitates discovery learning.

teacher is to create the conditions for invention rather than provide ready-made
    knowledge.”
